Pets Handling Policy


At Sky High Aviation Services, we provide the service of transporting pets in the main passenger cabin. Permitted pets are dogs and cats.

The transportation of pets and their acceptance will be subject to the approval of the government and health authorities of the ports of embarkation and disembarkation.


  • The pet must not exceed a maximum weight of 20 pounds.

  • The kennel must be flexible.

  • The kennel must be ventilated and have sufficient space for the pet to move.

  • The kennel must fit easily under the seat in front of the passenger and must meet the following measurements: 9" x 14" x 14" (23cm x 36cm x 36cm).

  • The customer may feed his/her pet, as long as the pet remains inside the kennel.

  • The pet must remain inside the kennel during the entire flight.

  • It is forbidden to assign seats to passengers with a kennel at the emergency exit.

  • Only one pet per kennel is allowed.

  • Only one pet per passenger is allowed.

  • The pet cannot travel without a passenger. - Pets must be clean and odorless.

  • We do not handle pets in the hold.

We accept a maximum of 3 pets per flight. We reserve the acceptance of the pet considering the condition of the kennel and compliance with the requirements.


  • The passenger is responsible for all necessary documentation for the entry of his/her pet to the travel destination.

  • Passengers traveling with a pet must present at the airport counter: Rabies vaccination card, health certificate, animal health form and receipt of payment.

  • The health certificate must be issued by a licensed veterinarian within 30 days prior to transport.

  • The use of pet tranquilizers is not recommended.

  • Sky High Aviation Services is limited to transporting brachiocephalic (flat-

    nosed) breeds. These have narrow airways due to their anatomy, which causes them difficulty breathing.


All pets transported will incur a US$100.00 per way charge.

Reservations for pets must be made at the Sales Offices and at the airport counter.


Sky High Aviation Services, accepts service or emotional support pets, you must notify us at the time of reservation.

These types of pets will be transported free of charge and do not require the use of a cage or kennel, but must be on a leash.

The passenger is responsible for providing a valid authorization from their licensed physician.

Emotional Services Animal

An animal that has been trained to provide assistance or perform a task for an individual with a disability.


  • Guide a blind person

  • Alerts its owner to possible seizures

  • Alerts its owner to high or low blood

Emotional Support Animal

An animal that is necessary for the emotional well-being of the passenger during the flight or at their destination and may or may not be trained for that role.

  • Provide comfort with their presence

  • Reduce stress, anxiety, depression

  • Provide peace of mind to their

  • owner.


  • Only dogs will be accepted as service and emotional support animals.

  • Only one (1) dog per passenger will be accepted.

  • The passenger must present a medical document certified by a mental

    health professional stating the need for the emotional support dog.

  • Notify 48 hours prior to the departure of your flight that you will be

    traveling with a service or emotional support animal.

  • Emergency exit seating is prohibited.

  • The dog must sit on the floor in front of the assigned seat and may not

    occupy aisle space

  • If the dog is very small like an infant, it could ride in your arms. If it is too big to fit at your feet, try to accommodate it in a seat with more space, if this is not possible, you can buy an extra seat to have additional space and accommodate the dog on the floor, in front of or to the side of your seat.

  • - The dog should not ride on the seats.

  • - Pets must remain with the passenger at all times.

  • - The dog may be denied carriage in the cabin if it has a bad odor, bad

  • behavior such as barking, growling, attacking other passengers.

  • - If it does not comply with the travel conditions of the country where it is going, it must be denied boarding until it meets the country's requirements. The passenger is responsible for the costs corresponding

  • to these changes.

The age requirement for pets is:

  • Service Animal: old enough to have been trained and respond to the owner's directions.

  • Emotional Support Animal: the dog must be a minimum of 6 months of age.

    • Identification certifying the dog as a service animal.

    • Proof of vaccinations and certificate of good health.

  • Emotional support animal
    • Medical document certified by a mental health professional certifying that the passenger certainly has a mental or emotional disability and needs an emotional support animal for during the trip or at their final destination. The medical document must have the following conditions:

    • Date of issue less than one year from the date of departure of the flight. o Signature and stamp of the physician with license information: date of

    • issuance, state or jurisdiction and type of license.

    • Legible document.

    • Proof of vaccinations and certificate of good health.

    • Documents required for entry into the country you are going to.
